Up Midtown Hotel

Five stars to even out some of the bad reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel after being apprehensive because of the comments. No bugs were noted in our room and mattress was thoroughly inspected as soon as we got there. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and our tv would recieve signals from other rooms, but the size was nice and it came with a lil table and chairs. Housekeeping staff was super friendly and attentive. It's a cheap option in the middle of a busy, posh section of town. Don't expect Hilton experiences from motel 8 prices. But hey! There's free parking. I'd definitely stay again.

Honestly a solid motel for the price, with a lovely little outdoor seating area. Good location, fairly central without being right on the main drag. We stayed prior to a cruise from Miami port; they were gracious enough to let us rest in their courtyard (a week later) while we waited 4 hours between getting off the cruise and getting to the airport. Highly recommend staying here-- it's not luxury, but if you're looking for a place to spend some brief time for a decent price, definitely consider this place.

We absolutely love staying here—this is our third year coming for Art Basel! The price is incredibly affordable, and the location couldn’t be better. Having a Target and Trader Joe’s nearby is super convenient for stocking up on snacks and essentials to keep in the fridge. If you’re in the mood to eat out, there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. One of our favorite things about this place is how close it is to Wynwood—we enjoy walking over there to explore the Art Fairs. I’ve read other reviews mentioning issues with getting deposits back, but in all three years we’ve stayed here, we’ve never had a single problem. Our deposit has always been refunded within two days, so I’m not sure what issues other guests may have experienced. The only downside we’ve noticed is that the shower curtains are too short for the walk-in showers. Each year, we end up requesting extra towels from the front desk because water tends to spill onto the bathroom floor. Aside from that minor inconvenience, this place is a fantastic value for the money. Of course, there will always be people who nitpick or find something to complain about, but I’m here to say that Up Midtown is a great choice. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to staying here again!

I love this location because there are restaurants in walking distance. Also the bus stop is right in front of the motel which is a major plus. This is a motel not a hotel but the room that I'm in is really clean and neat, I love it. It has a microwave and a mini fridge. My room has a balcony but no closet and I had to go to the front desk for an iron. Hey no problem it's worth the price. The bus in front will take you straight to downtown Miami for $2.50. They also have a day pass and a week pass to purchase at the government center a man told me. Around $6 for a day and $20 something for the week. It's right by the freeway btw. I highly recommend this motel.
